A Slow ExcitementA Poem by Nyu
You and me, we're strapped to a dream
We all just want that life we live for Each day working for that other day. Wanted to stop and just know that it's happening now Wanted to stop dying to live. So what is it? Why do we gotta keep studying when we figured it out? Why do I still feel like its all going- To happen Over there in that future land that no one knows? Well it blows. Can we escape, do you know how? I'm just running right out of my head now. We are ready, its the rules that aren't. They say they keep us safe. From what? Prolonging whats my fate while they suck my money dry. While they feed off my mother's hard work. If I could fight this I would, but there's no one to blame. Our life gets its muscles mutated by the magical wands that the upper class holds so firmly. The trick is to still recognize the strength is there no matter the form it comes in. © 2015 NyuAuthor's Note |
