Reformation

Reformation

A Poem by Nyu

Underneath those words
are nothing but tangled,roots
desperate for the dirt.
Scrape away simple expressions
to see an insecure human,
shaded in regret.
Like one who cannot make the first step,
I shudder at the first layer of my surface.
Is it alright to chase after pretty things...
While I am so rotten?
If I am to be forgiven,
must I crawl under the past?
Turn back to a baby,
and reform?
