One

A Poem by Nyu

The sound of words surrounded a withered body
closed off the space between the body and air
breathing through them; there was the key to that one door
that door that hadn't shown itself in years
grasping the handle, she slithered forward
into the stars and hidden sunshine
"Cover me in real air", she begged.
rocks smiled back without a sound
several days had passed but they felt all one:
one effort, one feeling.

I notice a running theme in many of your poems like this one of almost an out of body experience. I'm wondering if you often feel like I do as born out in the wrong time, an anemic time traveler or perhaps just a minute degree out of sync with the universe?
