Between Forever and Eternity

Between Forever and Eternity

A Story by J.

Where? When? What? Why?

I did not have a choice. I was trapped here. Well, actually, there is a way out.

I started this journal soon before I got here, but only this part is important.

I am between the two Dimensions, Forever and Eternity. I am in this ever-lasting hallway that spans on and on. The way out of this in-between, are two doors. One that leads to Forever, the life you and me know as life, time, and the universe. The other door, which is 5 feet from Forever's door, across the hall, is Eternity. This is what you and me know as the timeless after-life, such as: Heaven and hell. Though I know which door leads to which life, I have recently lost my family, my job, and have a brain tumor and am slowly dying, so I don't know what the point of going back to Forever would be. I have no will to live. But I'm not ready for the life after life either. But I have decided, I am going back to Forever.

I am now where I want to be. But you must hear my story.

I walked slowly and cautiously towards Forever. It had a silver knob, and the door was made of some kind of worn-out wood. Weird! Anyway, I grabbed the knob, and opened the door. There I was staring at the earth which was surrounded by space and stars. Amazing! I put my leg through the threshold, but did not go through. My leg was being tugged in, but I withstood it. I pulled my leg back out and turned around. I was face to face with Eternity. I shut the door behind me, and walked towards Eternity. I was-... was I being pulled? I felt a connection, my legs worked themselves. My hand reached for the golden knob and I opened the door. When I opened that door, I can't remember much about it now, but I remember thinking to myself "I... am... ready".
