Phases of the MoonA Poem by The WolfmanThe Lone Wolf's warning to those who walk the night during a Full Moon.
Beware the nights when you see the full moon rise
Heed the warnings of the lone wolf's cries Watch the moon change as it counts down to the night of the beast Hunting down innocent souls making them his feast As the earth's shadows dance across the moon The crisp night air is filled with the smell of the wolf banes bloom The seasons change turning the air hotter and colder With every year that passes the legend grows older The killings are the only way they seem to remember The mound of bodies I leave january through december This is why I'm forced to move from town to town Always feeling like these people are staring me down When they look at me they could never see the pain that lies within Not knowing the burden of carrying a monster born of sin But they will never get the chance for soon I'll be gone After tonight's full moon I'll have to move on Always moving to a new town, a new city but with a different name But my reason for living is all the same For I am at the Devil's right hand Cursed to have to obey his every command I always wonder who the wolf will kill tonight Who's life will be taken by the full moon's light What will happen after I lose control How can I stop the wolf from consuming my soul I go into the woods and wait to be taken Never knowing if I'll ever awaken The sun finally sets as daylight starts to disappear Stars all over the dimming sky start to appear As day fades to gray and dusk settles in The moon breaks the horizon signaling for the nightmare to begin So as night falls I see the full moon rise Losing myself in the lone wolf's cries. © 2011 The Wolfman |
