The Betrayal

The Betrayal

A Poem by The Wolfman
"

Ever think about betraying God?

"
In this wold of darkness there's a light I just can't find
In this graveyard of false hopes and broken dreams there is no where to hide
I read the names along the stones looking for my grave
A place to lay my restless soul, if there is anything left to save

I drop into my grave going six feet under
The dirt rains down giving me a chance to think and wonder
Will they miss me after I am gone
Or will they just forget and move on

The gates of heaven open up before me
As meadows and houses of gold strech beyond how far the eye can see
I bow before the lord as he watches my wings grow
I peer down into the river of gold and see my wings reflecting, white as snow

I stand up and walk over to God and spit in his face
The fires rise and fall around me revealing a different place
I bow down before the Devil and look into his empty eyes
I am welcomed with open arms as I'm told to rise

Satan watches as the demons tear off my wings
I'm then offered a thrown next to the darkest King of Kings
Because in this world there is no light light to find
In this graveyard of false hopes and broken dreams I no longer have to hide.
