Not Perfect

Not Perfect

A Poem by Jeffery Hayes

We all fumble and fall.
Ending up between a rock and a hard place.
We cry, bleed, and laugh
Just as any other.
We all have flaws.
Little dark secrets.
We become enraged
When we are against the wall.

You and I
Are not so different.
So why must we live in a world
With so much hate.
War and pain
We see a beautiful world
Being destroyed.

So here I stand.
Lowered weapons.
Offering to call a stop
To the blood shed and
Battles.

Will you do the same.
Putting down your judgements
Your words full of hate
I ask you
To meet me half way
After all
We both are
Not perfect
