Solitude was my safe place.
Where the world could not hurt me.
Where the words of others
Could not reach me.
My heart was safe from pain.
My soul was safe from darkness.

I found the Lord
In a lonely place.

My candle found its flame.
As a new day came.
The sunlight touched my face.
I opened my eyes
You see things in a new way.

The Lord found me in a lonely place.
Now his love is written on every page.
As I journey through life.
One step at a time.
Every step full of faith.
