Bitter Sweet Battle

Bitter Sweet Battle

A Poem by Jeffery Hayes

In the heat of war
Peace is out of reach
Love is only something in a dream
Words thrown like grenades.
Tongues like swords
Mental scars left on the heart.
Like all wounds
Will heal with time.
But will always be remembered

Forgetting what we are fighting for
Why must love be a battle.
Some where in time we lost ourselves in hate.
Blinded by rage
That was part of our past.
Lets put an end to this
Bitter Sweet Battle

Amazing! I love the way you used concepts in life with dynamics of war and fighting. Dude you have a remarkable gift..You may know it or you may not..but God is definitely motivating your spirit to write and I can definitely feel it. Its amazing dude really keep it up!
