A Poem by Jeff Bresee

Hand on the wheel and mind in the past,

between Lubbock Texas and home.
The sky is as big as the rolling plains vast,

no better place to be alone.

It feels like a movie that’s mixed with a dream

where tranquil and longing roam free.
A place where the ghosts of a thousand years past

still find it their favorite to be.

I can sense them watching from each distant hill

as I roll through mile after mile.
Again realizing the reason I still...

call Texas my home with a smile.
