The awakening

The awakening

A Poem by Jeffree Adam Tan

The awakening

I can see the stars,

I can feel the rain,

I can see the scars,

I can feel the pain.

What about sunrise?

What about rain?

Should I stand and rise?

Or should I fade in pain?

Tears in my eyes,

That’s a signal,

Maybe if I die,

It will be the final.

Now I see the sun,

And I look for hope,

Now I feel the fun,

Walking in this tightrope.

Then I found a reason,

To continue and survive,

No matter what season

I want to live my life.

Thanks Renee. I hope you’re doing better now. Take care
I might say this is a masterpiece. I can relate to this poem bcs I've been through the same thing. As i get into it, word by word. I can feel the pain, the pain that they hide from others. "I want to live another day, to see if it's a good day for me to cherish it and to stay alive". This poem represents depression. Not everyone can say or tell abt their depressions to others by words or actions. Some of them don't want to be sympathise or treated as if they're patients. All they want is someone to be there for them to get through every day without having the thought of suicide. This poem helps me to understand how serious depression can be.
