Dis-Integration

Dis-Integration

A Poem by Edward James
"

Last stanza repeated with spaces at the bottom.

"

Bring down the castle,
tear down the levy.
Ransack the black hats
in slick suits and Chevys.
Load up on canned goods
water and ammo
stockpile and profile
a woodpile with camo.

panic and dee-spair
building and climbing
stairways and airways
now littered with siding
sing shock and dig awe
praise be to MissAisle
be free on bruised knees
keep praying for his guile

Seeking and hiding a new light to master
you'll clamp down your hand now and ensure disaster
thoughts running all rampant like flies on the carcass
you blood drinking hate thinking bringing all darkness
like wise sage say ice age a flicker of madness
you sing now to beggars and bathe in the traffic
and deep in the dark heart a billowing blackness
a smoke filling green killing deafening sadness
you're lying through teeth gums black leaves in the autumn
a muckraking death making beast from the bottom
you lie like the artist the seer the poet
you lie with such ease now you lie and you know it
so calm and so cool with your fake facts and vision
you'll lie to the grave greed green lies now your mission
you weave and deceive you confuse and contort
you're selling your soul with each truth you distort
your greed become hobby your habit you prophet
your market is growing and death be your profit
you'll lie till you die with such cunning such malice
our species survival such threats to your palace
you lie to your sisters your daughters your brothers
your children your nieces your wives and your others
you lie and they die and so long ever after
the world does not end still your death in the rafters
AND bringing such chaos such untold disaster
your lies will define you your death now our answer

Wow! This is such a fantastically dark and desperate tome in answer to the unrest in our society and the ills that trickle down from above. The form of the last stanza is genius, which to me represents the bullet that will "define the death" of the liars and cheats who perpetrate this nonsense.

Well done and very clever!
