The Hole

The Hole

A Poem by Jeannie
"

I don't know if I'd consider this a poem, but it was more like a realization.

"
It’s a little bit sad, but at the same time funny.
One can spend so long finding a way out of the hole they dug themselves for an even shorter period of time.
Once they do, in fact, climb out of the hole,
They change themselves in a way where they block out every way of ever falling back in.
But when facing the monster who gave them the shovel,
It is almost impossible to stand their ground.
That’s when you’re back where you started.

and sometimes Jeannie that monster is haste or the undesirable delima involving two assumptions;
is it ok to go foward or is it ok to stand and fight the monsters of self unlove or doubt. because
everything else the monster has can be delt with. there is, in this little poem, a strong imperishable
message for one's personal decisions of strength at the very boiling point of adversity.

well written.

Great poem. And very true up to a point. It's always possible to learn from your mistakes and successfully face "the monster" that gave the shovel. Great metaphors. I very much enjoyed this!

Very telling and honest, and true enough to most events in peoples lives.
