Poured My Heart Out

Poured My Heart Out

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

I poured my heart out, in the rain,

Emptied out my hurt and pain,

I know not from or where it came;

But know, I'll never be the same.

I tossed my dreams into the sun,

And watched them dying one by one,

And when the final dream was gone;

I knew I faced the world alone.

I watched my faith,it slipped away,

I fell down on my knees to pray,

I had no strength to carry on;

For grief had stripped me to the bone.

My life lay crippled on the road,

I saw the seeds that sorrow sowed,

As truth lay bleeding on its side;

I  hung my head and gently cried.

My friends, I begged them all to stay,

But one, just laughed and turned away,

How tragic that she could not see;

How much her friendship meant to me.

I watched my dreams, my faith, all die,

All I could do was sit and cry,

Until a friend,  my faith renewed;

By saying, "I believe in you."

My spirit now has reached new height,

I feel I have the strength to fight,

And all because a friend did care;

And showed me love was always there.

Sometimes, a true friend is like a rare gem...very hard to find, but their value is priceless. Beautiful writing Norma. Very inspiring for the person who is feeling a little beat down right now. As always, you are an encourager. Check spelling, last stanza, first word..."My". Very nice piece!

Wow, this is beautiful and inspirational Norma, the vision is sculpted and eternal,
with lines like, I tossed my dreams into the sun,/And watched them dying one by one,
I thought the passion behind the wording and the choice of words themselves,
the title is perfect, because the meaning reflects what it is to pour the heart
in ways that causes the reader to feel every emotion, sentiments accentuated
by brilliance, in the way you leave the reader with a sense of knowledge. loved it!

Wow not only does this have great rhyme and flow it really cuts to the bone with pain... when you wear you heart on your sleeve like I do so many take advantage but then again you can achieve great things that way too... heartbreaking but beautiful piece.
