Freedom

Freedom

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

I wish to be free,

Like the winds through a tree,

To glide like a bird in the sky.

To soar over mountains,

To  glide over the sea;

Oh why, oh why, Can't I fly ?

With no earthly bonds,

My thoughts flowing free,

I'd glide and soar through the sky.

How happy I'd be,

Soaring 'round, oh so free;

Oh why, oh why, Can't I fly ?

Norma I have often thought of that myself, to really fly not just in our thoughts, but we do feel freedom without having wings, this is a nice thought, a call to natures freedom and all the beauty that we can see everyday just looking through our windows.

Lovely, Norma, oh, how great it would be to fly, to feel 'that' free. Imagery is great, as is color and font.
Inspirational and uplifting.

I kind of felt what it was to fly in a sense. I have sky dived before and to have that wind rushing all around you at high of a speed was something to experience. I suggest you try it some time.

I love the thoughts of this piece and the way it flowed so beautifully with no effort. Your pen has once again captured a beautiful thought and has painted an even more beautiful scene.

Great Job!!!!!!

Because you would not be on the ground to spread joy to the folks that love you (that includes us)!

I love it when a simplistically themed write inspires an explosion of thoughts and triggers the imagination. The moment I finished reading this I was reminded of these words spoken by Mohandas K. Gandhi;

"Freedom can be achieved through inner sovereignty."

We can all (metaphorically) fly as free as the eagle, when we have the faith to do so!

This had a nice, peaceful, feel to it. Everyone desires that peace and freedom. Beautifully done and enjoyed the repeating line at the end of the stanzas. T

Because you haven't sprouted wings Norma! Are you clicking your glitter red shoes together? There are undertones of Somewhere over the rainbow and your wish was Dorothy's as well...I loved "with no earthly bounds"...a beautiful thought that captures true freedom...
Nice work.

I've often wished to be a sweet flying bird. But for all my wishing; I'm still merely walking flesh LOL. I hope that you're feeling better, Jean!
