Smitten

Smitten

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee
"

The first time I held my little puppy.

"

The first time I saw you,

I knew I was smit,

You shook me to pieces,

I near had a fit.

Now that I've found you,

You've got to be mine,

Mountains of gold,

Can't compare with this find.

You tear me to pieces,

When I look in your eyes.

Deep down inside;

I can feel butterflies.

Momma dog loving,

Her cute little pup.

I'm telling you, cutie,

You're tearing me up.

Very soft, light piece. Flowed very well. Nice change from the more heavy stuff I usually read. Lovely!

I like the light hearted approach you took to love, I dig the dog analogy. It flowed well, and the pace was great.
I had a smile on my face as I read this, and I thank you for that. The world needs to smile and laugh more....

I refer to the time when pets began coming into my home as "when I lost my mind." Wouldn't trade the dog and the cats and the occasional snails and crawdads for anything.

Cute and fun is the best way I can describe this. It put a smile on my face. Love the light-heartedness and rhyme scheme. Nicely done, friend.

I loved the flow of this and tenderness that drips from every line. I could a heart beat thumping in the words. You have a great ability to write with your heart. I always love to see that in someone's work.
