War Hurts

War Hurts

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee
"

My view of war.

"

I weep for the pain,

the suffering of the people.

I stand amazed, silent,

numb with grief.

Oh, that my eyes,

were a fountain of tears.

I would cry,

day and night,

For the pain

of the people.

My grief is beyond healing,

My heart is broken.

Listen to the weeping,

Of the innocent.

War hurts and touches,

Both sides.

Not just

One.

In this world where disputes arise over issues such as territory, sovereignty, resource, or ideology, and if a peaceable resolution fails, is not sought, or is thwarted, war often results.

Your composition encapsulates the essence of truth, in the realisation, that war is a lose/lose scenario!

An emotional and poignant write! Thank you for the reminder.

Oh Norma, this is a lovely poem. It has sadness stamped all over it, but the content is just wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
