You Are Hereby Cited

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

You are hereby cited to appear

In First District Court next Tuesday

To face charges of reckless operation

Of a supermarket shopping cart.

You were observed

Speeding in the canned goods aisle,

Side swiping a parked cart,

and making an inproper turn

at fruits and vegetables.

You were also observed,

sampling grapes and strawberries.

If you fail to appear

The Jolly Green Giant

Will hunt you down and flog you

With an asparagus spear.

Like Jessica below me, I wondered what crime I had committed when I saw this in my inbox! Yikes! Was glad to see it was something you wrote; happier still when I read it. Made me laugh and that is always a good thing. Cute, clever and very funny. Thanks for sharing this. :)

LOL! What a cute poem!

Light hearted yet I somehow know that person that side swiped my cart a couple of weeks ago in a rush to get to the frozen foods section!!

Very nicely done and a great flow!

Bill

I hate the grocery store.
I love this poem!
I was always a little afraid of Little Sprout (never trust a green kid).
I can't wait for more!

I really like Vanessa's comment . . . but I do like strawberries. Funny poem. Remind me to take my sense of humor along next time I go to Wal-mart.

In my defence it wasnt me speeding in the canned goods aisle. My supermarket trolleys wouldn't pass their maintenance test and are not aisle worthy. They have a tendency to pull to the side and their wheels jam. But I do like strawberries.

Delightful poem, imaginative and funny.
