You Are Hereby Cited

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

You are hereby cited to appear

In First District Court next Tuesday

To face charges of reckless operation

Of a supermarket shopping cart.

You were observed

Speeding in the canned goods aisle,

Side swiping a parked cart,

and making an inproper turn

at fruits and vegetables.

You were also observed,

sampling grapes and strawberries.

If you fail to appear

The Jolly Green Giant

Will hunt you down and flog you

With an asparagus spear.

Like Jessica below me, I wondered what crime I had committed when I saw this in my inbox! Yikes! Was glad to see it was something you wrote; happier still when I read it. Made me laugh and that is always a good thing. Cute, clever and very funny. Thanks for sharing this. :)

LoL - I suppose the supermarket manager will be the judge. And of course you'll be tried by a Jury of your Pears (instead of Peers). Instead of a Bailiff - They'll have a Bay Leaf. If you jump bail there will be a Bounty Towel on your head. When they catch you they will really throw you in the cooler - with the beer, soda and milk. If you are convicted of insanity then they'll incarserate you with the Saltines, because they have also gone crackers. . . . I could go on, but I figured you preferred the Express Line version (L0L)
Great write. You gave me a nice chuckle. I really liked your writing.

I always knew the supermarket had the potential to be a dangerous place. Thanx so much for sending that too me. A sense of humor like yours is a prize to be valued.

Don't send the Giant after me PLEASE! It's true I did all those things but my dog was in the car and I was in a hurry and my cart had a chipped wheel and I forgot to eat breakfast this morning and I just love strawberries! I'll make a donation to the food bank if you'll let off with probation. That asparagus spear hurts! lol lol :o)

Norma, you have succeeded in forcing all of your reviewers to smile........much needed in this World of today.

The secret is getting in that supermarket at an ungodly hour............when no one else is there!!

Thank you for sharing as it warmed my day. Love, Tami xxx
