Whispering Wind

Whispering Wind

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee
"

lyrics

"

Whispering Wind, Why do you sigh,
As you softly pass me by,
Could it be that you're lonely too;
Whispering Wind, What can I do ?

Whispering Wind, tell me why,
Why did he leave ? Why did he lie ?
Your gentle rustling of the leaves;
Bear my pain upon your breeze.

Whispering Wind, please be so kind,
And erase him from my mind,
Take the thoughts and my memories;
And gently scatter them at sea.

Whispering Wind, Set me free,
Free from his spell and his memory,
Free from a love not meant to be.
Whispering Wind, Cry for me.

Beautiful lyrics. How mystical the wind, it carries our hopes, dreams, prayers and we even give it the granted capacity to carry our love. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it could carry the sad feelings of lose, away from us. Through your words it is not hard to envision the wind lifting the hair and whispering in the listener's ear, "I have carried the memories away, go and be happy." Sometimes in frustration I have stood in the blowing wind and it does seem as if it lifts some of the burden and carries it away. I will have to add this to my favorites.

I loved this! It flowed perfectly, like the gentle breath of the wind. I could feel a cool breeze and your pain. You are an amazing writer!

"Ah-h-h-h," sighed the wind, "But if I were to blow the memories away, you might well repeat the same mistakes over and over; that is why I allow them to dwell, distant and dispersed, but never wholly absent!"
Thank you, Norma, for this plaintive, yet hopeful write.

I hear a whole orchestra behind these song lyrics, you do this so well Norma. I love the last stanza and the gentleness of these lyrics...they are exactly how a whispering wind would feel upon ones face, as tears fall from ones eyes. Just Beautiful Norma.

Norma you are the best writer of song lyrics and of soft sweet song lyrics and this is so beautifully done
that it sweeps away the heart, resting upon the breeze of your whispered- phenomonal pen

This is simply beautiful! I love the rhyme and flow, and the theme. It could easily become a song too but is a lovely read too.

I can just hear this rendered as one of those great Southern Country songs, with a plaintive female voice behind the lyrics. Evocative!

I really like the way you chose an element of earth to articulate vividly your expression of emotions in this beautiful prose! ~ Jude :-)!
