there can be nothing so profound in a small child's life as the loss of a parent. especially when they are really too young to understand. The title here "One Window" is perfection; as it puts me in mind of gazing upon the heavens where her mother now resides; of sharing those stars and moon - their spirits engaged in that time and space - even though they are separated here on the physical plane. This is a beautiful and poignant write she has shared with us for her mother :-)
Oh my! this is so sad Norma, we couldn't begin to imagine the feelings this young girl has about her mother. she did a great job of expressing the sadness and the need she feels.

Norma, this touching poem speaks valumes and brings tears to the heart,
I can relate to your loss, the sentimental value is priceless, truly beautiful.
Very touching, damn she really has quite a handle on this poetry thing at her age... I think she can teach me a thing or two...
At any age losing a parent is tough but when your are still growing and learning it has to be even harder to lose that one who guides and protects you... I think we all see our parents as invincible... I lost my mom two years ago but always feel her right next to my heart.
This is such a heart touching, amazing piece, and by your 5 year old granddaughter. I know you must be proud of her. {{{Norma}}} as a gammie I feel your pain of not wanting their grandchild to hurt. I am deeply sorry for your lose. Carrying you in my thoughts and prayers ~ Jude xoxo
This is extraordinary. I want to peer through that window...I want to see my dad. What a wonderful and moving tribute. I often wonder about those who have preceded me and how that I might transcend the bonds of this earth to hold them. One day.
This is so beautiful and heartbreaking. Norma, my heart is really
heavy reading this. Such a heartfelt expression, from such
a young soul. Just one window....
The pain of losing a parent/child is something from which we
never really heal, only learn to live with. That window is there,
it's the one her mother watches and guides her through, which
is indeed how she came up with the thought. Because it exists.

I am a 57 year old, happily married, mother of 4, who have blessed me with 12 grandchildren. I find a lot of my inspiration comes from my grandchildren. who can provide an endless supply of things to .. more..
