For Fran Marie's Lucky 13 Contest

Most people consider the number 13 the be unlucky. I found a total of 34 facts that make the number lucky or a good number. I am listing 13 , because I'm writing about the number 13.

 

01= The fifth lucky number =1, 3, 7, 9, 13

02= Number of the same suit in a deck of playing cards =13

03= Number of chapters in Nehemiah = 13

04= Verse 13 of Chapter 13 in Saint Paul's 1 Corinthians : " And now abides

      Faith, Hope, Love, these three--- but the greatest of these is Love"

05= Number of chapters in Saint Paul's 2nd Corinthians= 13

06= Number of chapters in Saint Paul's Epistle to the Hebrews : 13

07= 13th word of the King James Version of the Bible's Old Testament

      Genesis = earth 1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

     2: And the earth was without form, and void: and darkness was upon the

     face of the deep. Genesis 1, 1-2

08= 13th line in Dante's Paradiso is an invocation to Apollo, the God of Poetry

09= Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper shows Christ with his 12 Apostles,

      Christ being number 13

10= Number of petals in Black -Eyed Susans, Corn Marigolds, and Ragworts

       =13

11= U.S. Flag had 13 stars & 13 stripes ( 1777-1795 )

12= 13's in the Great Seal of the United States

   1. 13 stars in the crest

   2. 13 stripes in the shield

   3. 13 olive leaves

   4. 13 olives

   5. 13 arrows

   6. 13 letters in Annuit Coeptis

   7. 13 letters in E Pluribus Unum

13= The Luckiest of all Because our dear Fran Marie was born on the 13th

       day of the month, which makes the number 13 very lucky for all of us.

Awe what a great write... wow you must have done a lot of research to find all those facts to disspell the myth... it's like the number 666 and how many are afraid of it, it's a number... I have heard people actually get their Social security number changed if it appears in it or by something else if its in the total... anyways I ranting on, very well researched and written.

Oh one thing you forgot... there are thirteen in a bakers dozen

indeed you give honor to a number that has a bad rap,
I really like the constructiveness and the knowledge,
allows the reader to learn something new, and I didn't know a few things you mentioned

I've never put a lot of stock in the unlucky fate of the number 13 - oddly, Friday the 13th is always a very good day for me - now, does that dispel the myth or say something odd about myself? lol Hopefully not the latter.
