Gently In My Heart

Gently In My Heart

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

Before I go to bed each night,

And lay my head to rest,

I long to kiss your tender lips;

And lay my head upon your  chest.

I long to hold your gentle hand,

Pressed soft upon my breast,

I long to touch your handsome face;

And lay my head upon your chest.

But all these things I cannot do,

For we're so far apart,

So I'll continue dreaming;

And hold you gently in my heart.

Wipe my tears please...........I've felt this so many times and for the same man. I thought this was beautiful. It capture how I fall asleep every night. The only difference is that I fall asleep with his blanket wrapped around my shoulders, no matter how hot it is out. Alas,,,,,,,,,my next poem. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for inspiring me.

Absolutely stunning Norma. A beautiful gentle piece filled with longing, loving and gentle acceptance that these special moments cannot be right now, yet there is no anger, pain or worry, just sweet loving and gentle hope that one day it will be so. A sad but beautiful way to fall asleep, with your love held gently in your heart.

Thank you. I feel every word.

It seems that we only miss someone truly once they're really gone, and then we offer our deepest feelings into the empty night...

Ughhhhhh, this touched me more than you could even imagine. This poem was just absolutely beautiful and I guess the reason that I really like it so much is because I can relate with every single word you put into this poem. LOVELY!

Yes! This is the perfect way to fall asleep. I realy enjoy this. There is the sense of missing you lover, but not the sadness of loss, just a temperary absance. I like the way this makes me feel now just before turning for the night.

An ode to lover's fair.. this beautiful poetry is in essence gentleness resting upon the reader's mind..
as to fall asleep.. slipping into a state of ever desire.. a deeper look inside the making of passion
embracing sensuousness.. sensuousness kissing the continuum.. whose lips know what it means to
thirst for that which the heart holds dear.. the opening line sets in motion the catalyst.. the notion

of falling into slumber in wanting.. thinking about what well being longs for most..the partner soul yearns
to see ..in waiting.. softly spoken.. your subtle words light a fire in the readers mind and shares its
warmth in relationship to the context and that being.. falling asleep.. offering all that is life.. in surrender..
when relinquishing deepest dreams for the sake of crossing distant paths.. hoping to one day unite
with love.. Sweetly endearing.. you have a way with rhyme and meter that never ceases to amaze me.
