Changing Faces

Changing Faces

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

Yesterday

It was a glorious winter wonderland,

With glistening snow falling over the coutry-side,

Blanketing everything in purest white.

Serenity and peace suffuse the land,

As all nature sleeps,

With it's head tucked under it's wing.

Thousands of snowflakes,

Like bits of wool

Torn from the fleece of a cloud,

Float silently, lazily down

Through the stillness,

Making a cotton-soft carpet

That silences every footfall.

Today;

The glorious winter wonderland

Has disappeared.

The sky is now gray and gloomy.

Trees are once again bare,

And MUD covers the ground.

Winter has changed

Faces.

Norma, I really like the way you open this writing by taking the reader back in time, a time to yesterdays and perfect winter wonderlands, brings the heart to place where snowflakes falls with a sense peace, of picturesque detail, as to envision rolling

country sides blanked by the soft hand of mother baure, to envision such a wintery environment creates a feeling of aenchanted landscapes, as well as christmas time cheer and all that would accompany such. as you bring the reader to the present,

rembering the past and iys with, where the rain falls creating puddles, indded rain
has its own magic, but theres nothing quite like a hillside covered in snow.
You did a nice job capturing the vision and all its colorl, visual and beautifully
sentimental, there is also feelings of somber tinged with loneliness for december.
Take care, Mike
