Snowflakes

Snowflakes

A Poem by Norma J. Jessee

Lacy crystals, floating, dancing

Everdown,

Like glittering gems in a golden

Crown.

They run, they play, they dance in the

Air,

Snowflakes, snowflakes, everywhere.

Now everything lies hidden, still and

Quiet,

Mother Earth is warmed by her blanket of

White.

The trees look so stately standing

There,

With snow laden branches that once were

Bare.

This was a great description of snow! I thought your words were perfect! I love snow and never thought to describe it the way you did. Very good!

Cool, clean and crisp yet with the tints of cosiness, stregnth and beauty.

The lighthearted words at he beginning give a feeling of playful snowflakes drifing and floating while the second half shows how quiet the hushed silence is after a heavy fall. The image of the tree with its once bare branches now loaded with snow - is perfect.

A snapshot in words.

A lovely write

I love this poem, it reminds me of childhood being happy about snow. Now all i seem to do is complain about shoveling and driving in the snow. It is good to remember that it once was my friend.

This reminds me of snowfall on Christmas Eve in Tahoe, the year I got married. It's hushed like a quiet snowfall.

As with many of your writes this has a childlike simplicity that is charming. The structure captures something of the shape and lightness of a snowflake.

The trees look so stately standing
There,
With snow laden branches that once were
Bare.

Very nice.

I like that, serine yet pronounced as to usher in the enviroment rather than the Festival of winter. Nice
