![]() The Metal MonsterA Poem by Norma J. Jessee![]() A poem I wrote way back when C B's were the popular things.![]() There you sit on your throne, With your headphones on, Your septer held tight in your hand. And you talk to the folks, Drink coffee, tell jokes, To your subjects on your citizen band. It's five in the morning, I'm sitting here yawning, Your septer's still glued to your hand. The alarm clock is ringing, You're still there singing, Glued to your wonderful citizen band. You talk to and tease, And feel that you please, All the ladies in radio land. While I sit here lonely, Thinking of you only, How I hate that damn citizen band. That Metal Monster Took you away from me, For how can a woman, Compete with a C.B. It doesn't have arms to hold you, Yet, you hold it tight. It isn't warm and gentle, Yet, you're here with it every night. That Metal Monster, Has taken my man. Oh, how I hate that Damn Citizen Band.
