Cold,Cold Cobblestones

Cold,Cold Cobblestones

A Poem by jdwhelan
"

The empty walks since the lost of my wife to cancer.

"
Walking Alone
Along the cold cold cobblestones
The dark and empty streets
Seem to just repeat
As I keep on walking
Trying to find my peace

And when I see the glare
From the street lamps above
I think about how I miss our love
Now that you`re an angel from above

And as I walk alone
Along the cold cold cobblestones
I hear the whispers in the wind
Telling me what could have been
In a world where I can`t win

These streets are empty now
As I search in vain
For relief from this pain
But the darkness of the night
Makes me feel...so insane

Reading this made me feel somber and lonely. The title also really drew me in. Well done.

I so can relate to your beautiful words here, I lost someone I loved dearly several years back, I like to think of him as one of the Angels watching me from above, thanks so much for sharing and very much enjoyed xoxo
