The Depression Collection Part 1: Have I got a deal for you?A Poem by Jayne Disdaine
I’m
bored In
need of a distractive (destructive) action. A reflective
glance that could lead to Satisfaction. I
want to take a strong stance Against
my brains’ faulty assumption That
I need something illicit to cure this restless compunction, My reluctance
overrun by arrogance And energy
without purpose creates irritation.
Dopamine
deprived mush tells me Things
I could do, Things
I don’t want to do, Nasty
sarcasms there are no need to say. Why
does it never suggest Morality?
Integrity? Sobriety? Why
justify my Hyde side? Why
does it lie? Wicked
mind, like a salesman, Door
to door with steak knives and over-priced vacuums! Flirting,
amusing, gently arguing, flattery, til it gets the foot in! Only
needs one timid ‘Yes’ The barest
of consents, Then
as par for the course, fleeting excitement leads to buyer’s remorse. The
price is always too high for me to afford But
there is no retreat once the contract has been endorsed By
my feeble ‘X’. Blood
in my pen.
Now
I’m ashamed once again. So I’ll
wallow in Depression and Self-Hatred til those destructive b******s have had
their fill. And
silently, in the void that’s left… Boredom
creeps And
saps my will, With
the same eternal question.
