Dusty Backroads

Dusty Backroads

A Poem by Jayne Disdaine
"

Song I wrote at 15 with a country feel... melancholy circa 1990, When I was playing bass in a band called Counterpoint

"

 Dusty back roads,

Leaving the city behind,

Looking for the place in the back of my mind....

Dusty back roads,

Leading me places I ain't seen before,

Not taking me far away

But straight back to your door....

Trying to make up my mind..

Leaving my old life behind..

Wishing you'd never been mine...

Dusty back roads,

Don’t be my enemy.

When I'm trying to break away

Please let me be free

Dusty back roads,

Heading for the sky,

I cant see the lines for the tears in my eyes.

Trying to make up my mind.

Leaving my old life behind.

Wishing you’d never been mine.

remembered 11/11/12.
