Extinction

Extinction

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

1/12/15

"
My pen has little worth
Value determined
By measurable praise
From the reader and not my own hand

Words strung up
In an elegant arrangement
Meant to attract the eyes
Of the literature hungry
A breed almost extinct
In this race

Forevermore I wish to operate
As Riley Bray
Famous poetry
Famous activist
Famous therapist
Famous SVU cap
All beginning with a few strokes
Of worthless pen
To create a beautiful written world

But how can I do so?
My pen has little worth
Value determined by
The views and likes it gets
For I am in the center
Of a dying breed
A group from which I cannot escape
