Attention Deficit

Attention Deficit

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

10/2/14

"
Like some cruel warden
The clock stands
At attention,
Taunting you
With attention deficit,
Baiting you with
Mental absence.

But take a bite
And the monsters head will turn,
The hands will choke you,
The face will mock you,
And the numbers shall tick your time
Away.

Choose to focus
On that attention deficit
And you've already lost,
Do not cave
When faced with the warden,
Do not struggle.

You will not win.
They never do.
