Rewind/Leaving Candyland

Rewind/Leaving Candyland

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~
"
My mouth doesn't taste
Like candy anymore,
I don't breath in any happiness
I don't feel any ecstasy.
I reach out a hand
But you aren't there,
The colors in my life
Have begun to disappear.
Pause
Was it not your fault?
Perhaps I'm fated
To burn bridges
For my many years to come.
Yet still they call me
"Sugar and spic and everything nice"
Even though it's well known
That I'm wretched.
