Spark of Madness

Spark of Madness

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~
"
Tears have fallen from my eyes before,
O captain, My captain,
Your Happy Feet have tapped away from us far too soon,
Though for you, Ferngully lay now in arms reach.
"O Captain, My Captain! rise up and hear the bells,
Rise up - for you the flag is flung - for you the bugle trills."
O captain, My captain,
The aliens await,
The depths of Jumanji are calling out to you again.
O captain, My captain,
My tears are now shed dark,
Your legacy is a treasure to humanity,
The same one that you could no longer stand,
But with your lessons in our souls
We will learn,
O captain, My captain,
We will learn.
"O Captain, My Captain!
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen, cold and dead."
Robin Williams, you'd be the first to see the irony in all of that.
The music plays and I close my eyes, for it connects us to the stars,
We can feel you and your magic there, you've not left us after all.
With my spark of madness, may I repay you kindly,
As Aladdin said, "Genie, you're free."
