The Golden Man

The Golden Man

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~Tribute to Robin Williams~~~
"
I know the pain of a heartbreak.
I've seen the eyes of a dead man seeking
For something more,
Something worth living for.
And I guess that
He never found that thing
He was searching for
Because soon after, I hear
He left us,
As we were waiting for more
And I guess
That we never noticed
How strong of a man he was.
And I guess
That we never noticed
How much he meant to  us.
Because here I lay
Looking at the stars tonight
Where the clouds are blocking the sky
And I know that
The world is weeping too
The world misses you
You should know that we needed you.
We're glad that you were with us
Because we relied on you
As long as you were with us
We worshiped you,
And you carried us on your shoulders.
Because you knew.
You knew the pain
Of a heartbreak, or two.
You knew that laughter is a medicine
That you could share with us
You knew.
All along you knew.
And for that, we'll never forget you.
