Color Her Corroded

Color Her Corroded

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~
"
Cracked lips, pale face
Breathing in the blackness
Singed skin, new fears
Wide eyes, red cheeks
Trying to fend off nightmares
Long nights, sour taste
And when she
Finally wakes up
Daylight starts to break up
The remnants of a sweet reverie
Like hiccups
Your body can't seem to get up
And all the magic seems to dissipate
So lately
She's started getting angry
Fists fueled by raging fury
As the monsters come
To duel again.
White hands, bit tongue
Shivering in anguish
Sad gaze, strong will
Curled toes, firm grip
Falling further every minute
Blue thoughts, gray shifts
And when she
Finally falls asleep
Burning with an envy
For all those that will never have to know
Anything she goes through
Can't make the wrong move
Or else everything will fall apart again...
As she is losing everything she holds dear
She plunges into the depths of her own soul.
World sullen
Emotions running wild
Face swollen
Torn apart inside and out.
She's hopeless
And doubtful of her future...
And she's corroded.
