Never Meant to Be

So today I heard you were leaving,

Which didn't really get to me

At first...

But then they said

It would be the last time

We would ever all be together.

And in that very same second

I knew,

Beyond a shadow of a doubt,

That I would miss you.

I found that we all play

A specific role,

That without one

I can never feel quite complete...

But at the same time

I know

I'll have to let you go.
