Pacify

Pacify

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~
"
How much will it cost
To feed them lies?
Little white ones are growing to cover even my shadow
Usurping my ability to keep up with them,
But I must continue to do so,
To pacify those that love me enough to ask
So I can show them I love them enough not to tell.
Enough not to tell? A very true line. Why do people hurt each other with the truth. If it is just to lift your burden then think again. Do not feed the fire of pain with white lies. A good short piece. To the point and it really touched me.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Also, thanks for the review Magenta. ^^
Sparing loved ones the pain of realization and reality to further satisfy their desires and expectations. I find it rather intriguing that children do this to make their parents believe that their way of raising the children is perfect, and that the parents do this to their children to shield them from the horrors of reality (which they will face inevitably, one day). You portray it so well, keep it up.
