Judgement of Corruption

Judgement of Corruption

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~
"
We're going to hell,
Every last one of us
Not after death but now.
Up from deep water
We have risen,
And shall soon return.
Magma has slithered into
Our bones,
The fumes intoxicating us so we can't breathe.
Purgatory means nothing,
Pain means nothing,
Principles, nothing.
A little money paid though,
And you can forget,
Pretend to play innocent.
Murder more souls
In your mental stay
Than ever before.
Maybe hell won't look
So red then,
In comparison.
But we're still burning away,
Frozen by our own fire,
With no salvation left to seek.
This is a stunning portrayal of society as it is and has been for most of human history. So much bloodshed has been spilled that I wonder if hell is just another playfield for the gods or a god to play with, as if we were chess pieces. Yet, we're all used to that, because in reality, in our world, the chess pieces are always being played by generals and presidents and leaders and kings down here on earth. Well done, Riley.
well, aint that right! maybe the fallacy to make the world a better place is necessary but eventually, its a meaningless struggle.
