It's Always SocietyA Poem by Riley Bray~~~Fine, be blinded by societal rules, Let them make your decisions, But I won't be with you Because I'm not gonna give in. What's the use? They're trying to stitch our lips together, Keep us silenced while they work, They're digging their hooks in us, They want to make us hurt. If I don't fight back won't we be stuck like this forever? The monsters make me feverish With their gruesome, gory grins, they're disgusting, grimy creatures, Who have hidden well their abundant sins. Would you also destroy them with your last breath? It's always society, They've slaughtered teenagers most of all; Many have lost the battle, Because they felt too weak and small. Would it solve anything if I were to hang since it's in me? I'm chipping off the pieces of me That I don't need. Fiction killed by vengeful fantasy. Memory eroding away, words slipping off my tongue, For I swear to be a model to the young ones. Heart turned black, eye shine lost, Just as I will lose our societal values, As my soul turns to ash and dust. We're all manifestations of a fragment of societal rule, Break through the blindfold together with me, And fall into a reborn world... Make Me Your Hearth.
