Hangman's Noose (Two Feet Off the Ground)

Hangman's Noose (Two Feet Off the Ground)

A Poem by Riley Bray

Respect is an issue
With them nowadays,
So don't you dare embarrass them
Through what you say.

Society has given
Them power,
Power to abuse
Power to sour.

They're like beasts
That have taken charge,
They try to tell me that I'm wrong,
They want to make our lives hard.

What happened to respect?
Not from me, but from you,
I've earned my respect,
You just expect it too soon.

To hell with your status,
Your age and your domain
Because all you are to me
Is an a*****e of a mundane.

I'm childish?
Leaving so our argument would end?
I'm young, maybe in a way, but that's some bullshit
You were trying to assert your dominance.

Send me to the dean?
Now that is just pathetic
Hear me, dumbass,
My words are prophetic.

You oughta shut your mouth,
I think your ego's in the way,
Because there is no possibility
That I will be your slave.

You're starving me with your ignorance,
So yeah stand a little taller maybe that'll help,
But daring to look down on me,
Well aren't you a little whelp?

Support me? No,
Respect me? Ha, you must be kidding,
Because I'm not seeing any of that
From the seat in which I'm sitting.

You'd best send me away,
After all my opinion may challenge you,
But your kingdom's gonna fall one day,
All because of you know who.

I wont come back Mr.Belgrade,
For I see where we stand,
But I suppose you've shown me,
The enemy I must reprimand.

Good tidings to you Belgrade,
Your evil isn't new
So I hope that you now "like" me
As much as I hate you.

I see my fingers 'round your neck
And watch you turning blue,
But don't you worry, "Teach,"
Because you've already killed me too.

Blowing off some steam about my asshole of a teacher and how he abuses his power. He likes to make me feel like I'm worth zip. Cheers to teachers who'd rather kill you mentally than teach you shit. Kampai!

I suspected a parent at first, that must say a lot about the way I perceive things. It's sad that asserting dominance and, one of my most-recited phrases, care more about child indoctrination rather than actually doing their job. Well expressed, though.

A really great poem. It's sad how a lot of teachers really don't care about the students anymore.
