Disassembly

Disassembly

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

~~~
"
I will not prod it or be swayed,
For in the pathways of my mind
I endorse my seething rage, with proud passion
As green envy rears it's head while I continue onward
I live on a thin wire, anger threatening the mundane from
Beneath the surface of my skin
As hatred drives my attitude
In a loud world without identity,
Built on vials of seductive desire.
Strength tongues my flames with ecstasy,
My papery walls tearing at the kiss of a wrecking ball --
To be trapped inside and forced to fail,
My skin prickling without remorse, --
As unspoken thoughts are birthed from it's mothers mind
To watch society collapse,
For we shall begin to dissolve into our own anguish,
And we will unravel, and unwind
Into our precious, man-made time.
You capture the feeling of your frustration well in this, mate, and your imagery matches it to a tee. The world is an ugly place, and I can't help but agree with how materialistic everyone all of a sudden is. Even those of us who don't conform are trapped in the snares of those who crave it, and there's nothing to do but put on a happy face and live in the filth of today. Very well written, dearest. ~Never Forget
Wonderful summary! Thank you for your review. ^^
Wow. This is cut throat, but trenchant. I agree. Your wording is beautifully put together and I can feel your anger. Great imagery. My favorite line, " As unspoken thoughts are birthed from it's mothers mind/ To watch society collapse,...". Thank you for posting. :)
I sense your frustration and overall bitterness over what the world is coming to, acting no longer out of passion but out of a hatred of this world and to lash out and make yourself known, either to solidify your identity in this weary existence or as retribution to how the world has treated you. The way in which you present your overall irritation with the world and the way it descends into just a gentle unwinding, keeping to yourself instead of lashing out as you used to fascinates me. Residing peacefully as the society surrounding us collapses . . . what a way to exist!
Well done, Riley.
