Mental Suicide

Mental Suicide

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

Nirvana is death.

"
Who will step forward
When my heart
Beats for nothing
Save
Splintered truths, erected on
A hate for dead words
Plummeting from the mouths of the victims,
Describing me, the accused.

Carve me, with
My addiction to
Speaking without a
Voice to be heard, for
Yelling on a battlefield
Where I have become the slave
To what you think I should be.

Hear me
As I breathe into
Your ears,
Drowning in the misery
Caused by the
Mute ones, accompanied
By the
Soft-spoken cutters, that
Bleed the ink, behind
A worlds words.

How our hearts bleed.
Mental suicide.
We hang ourselves in thought.
