Captivating

Captivating

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

You were different with me, even when we first met.

"
He had a sad smile.
His eyes reflected painful memories
As if he could bury them deep inside.
His hands were tanned and balled into tight fists
As if he could hold his heart in his palm.
His mouth was soft but rigid
As if he could hide himself in its shadow.
His soul was incomplete and wavering
As if inside he was not who he tried to be.
He was captivating.
But he had a sad smile.

XD Lol nice Willa XD Thanks for the review!
Finding captivation in the face of a lover despite a smile heavy with the woes of a past must be one of the most touching aspects of human nature in existence; to be able to find satisfaction and settle the storms of a past is lovely as well. You depict the meaning well, I liked it.

Thank you much Tai.
This is pretty! Kind of ironic for my as my ten year high school reunion will be coming up soon. It reminds me of the group of friends I was around. Very nostalgic. ^_^
