My Love Is Somewhere

My Love Is Somewhere

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

Maybe...

"
I feel it writhing in my bloody core
Wretchedly and woefully
And quietly pulsating.

It is grasping for a foothold
The likes of which will not appear
So long as there is nothing sturdy beneath it.

It cries out for something to nourish it
But is instead blocked
By a black heart and a frozen soul.

But my love IS somewhere,
Waiting to be opened wide enough
For it to pour like a waterfall.

It will be gentle and welcoming
And will fill me with tingles in waves
Because really, my love must be somewhere.

The deep feeling you put through with these words as you think of the person you've fallen in love with is flowing like water but rushing with a strong adrenaline boost. The desire for something is most definitely a strong thing, something you want could get you somewhere, but could it be a need more than a desire? Things could change from different perspective. A personification of the heart crying but unheard, only to be isolated inside stiff solid matter adds the story a bit more interesting. Emotions are what get us to move on and to make things interesting, good or bad. Will the ice truly become water someday? Will the water continue to be cold or warm when the time comes or passes by? The heart is not alone, though it may not have half of it's pieces yet to form a complete love story, it still has its mind. Without a brain, it could not think or feel of what emotion is. You are the Ying, The other is the Yang. It needs it's counterpart. Love can be unexplained of why one is in love. But one thing is for sure, always pursue your goal. Even if it's a small one.

It's a really nice poem. It sounds like the character is determined that she will find love, and that until that point she will wait for it and let it come when it should. :)
Very nice.

This is one really hopeful and pleasant piece, Riley. For all those who are single, and more, for those who have not yet entered any relationship but are waiting for the right person, which they will eventually find! Nice one!
