Grave Of Fireflies

Grave Of Fireflies

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

The obvious is calling...

"
Nonsense is calling
As night begins falling
Slipping and drowning
With silence resounding.

How can I swallow
These people while hollow,
With pride in their eyes
And mindless fireflies.

But somewhere in mourning
Are those souls that're burning
With milky white scarring
The hearts fully marred.

As I'm sitting here watching
The hopes that are dropping
I lose all my patience
With this graveyard called life.

This one is quite tough, as I cannot seem to figure out what the fireflies symbolize... the beauty of human annihilation, and how easy it is to smother another? The ethereal feeling of socializing with mindless insects that have asses brighter than their heads? I am enticed..
