I Bled Herself Back

I Bled Herself Back

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

Caged, if not for a little while longer.

"
Black charades
And inky nightmares
Fused with scarlet blood
And somber stares
Defines the life
Of little I
As she sits in the window
And watches all go awry.
She fights and battles
With all her might
Against the beasts
In her twisted mind
And to calm herself
And silence her rage
Little girl I bled herself back
And her monster was caged.

Author's Note

Riley Bray
Alright so since I feel an explanation is needed, I'll give one. Basically, I'm talking about myself, but I feel as if I'm looking at myself from outside, so I recognize her as me but she is also not me, which is how she got her name. The poem itself is rather straightforward, just talking about disasters and problems and how cutting can help. That's this poem, (from my perspective), in a nutshell. :)

'Twas a bit confusing, but enjoyable. I particularly liked the aspect of speaking to your past and future as your present.
