They Think I'm BetterA Poem by Riley BrayPeople. Seeing only what they want to see.
They all look at me like I'm some idiot,
But I think they're the imbeciles. In my eyes they're just a lot of cretinous bigots. They think I'm better, but they only know the part of me that's visual. So let me spell it out for you lot, Your eyes are obviously blind With all of you I've fought, And my pain is mine. You can't force me into thinking a lie No one is strong enough to make me that stupid Your views on life are stale, dry My gullibility has been executed. Don't lump me in with the masses Because you'll find I stand out more than you like You'll begin to realize my independence far surpasses All the other poor souls that have believed you, and they can take a hike. You all see me so extremely happy-go-lucky You have honestly fallen for my obvious charade You psychologists ought to go back to school to study Because I've sure as hell given you enough visual aids. I'm clearly the puppet-master here And you all are my marionettes And sadly for you all, I make an excellent puppeteer, Pulling your strings for the rest of our lives, I'll bet. And I really think its funny That you all think I'm better Because surely you're all too bright and sunny To realize my hardcore depression, so here's my resignation letter.
