Let's Rendezvous

Let's Rendezvous

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

The past, the present, the future. There is always time.

"
Inside every happiness there lies a demon
And I never meant to have regrets but now,
I see them.
They were hiding in our fragile weak points
And prodding us like cows
And laughing at the awkward silence
That they created between us.

And so lets rendezvous
Remember what we used to be?
I'll think of you
Is it so hard to think of me?
I think all along we knew
But that doesn't change the fact
Of what you chose to do.

Leaving me
And leaving you
A grave mistake?
I don't think so.
But I've been known
To be dead wrong
So why did you
Choose not to reminisce in truth?

And so lets rendezvous
Remember what we used to be?
I'll think of you
Is it so hard to think of me?
I think all along we knew
But that  doesn't change the fact
Of what you chose to do.

Spider's cobwebs long since keeping me from seeing
That somewhere along the way, we left meaning.
I'm sorry
That I decided not to notice them
And wished they'd go away
So here's my apology letter,
I'm waiting for yours with baited breath.

And so lets rendezvous
Remember what we used to be?
I'll think of you
Is it so hard to think of me?
I think all along we knew
But that doesn't change the fact
Of what you chose to do.
