Stain

Stain

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

Just another stain on the parchment of time, or so they think.

"
Silence is the most powerful scream
And its crying out to you as we speak. A
Vermin festering inside of our
Existence and hiding in our neighbors homes.

Me, myself and I is all there is since
Everyone seems not to notice my suffering.

Freedom an unknown word
Residing, dormant, in the back of my mind. The
Overtness of her a suffocating lie, her actual self seen only by
Me every night after the stress whittles her down.

The strain causing me to duck into submission,
Hoping that the wicked heathen could relent, yet
Each time knowing I only fuel her. But
Maybe, if i'm lucky, the bruises will surface and someone will get my message.
