Woven

Woven

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

We are woven together from our pasts, from our worlds, from our minds and from our hearts. We are all woven.

"
The softest whisper of a moment passing by
Is enough to bring soulful tears to your eyes
With the heartfelt cries
Resounding in the endless sky
Memories force away my disguise.

In the great sea
Of moments to breathe
I am set free
To weave my own destiny.

Silver scars lattice the leathery skin,
Marks of battle long carved in,
Streaked in soot and much too thin,
Holding the life she must play on a whim.

In the great sea
Of moments to breathe
I am set free
To weave my own destiny

Intricate designs
Molding into the delicate fabric of time
Her life stained black of sins and crimes.
Yet deep inside her eyes,
She is a soldier,
An angel in disguise.

In the great sea
Of moments to breathe
I am set free
To weave my own destiny

Despite the scars, the sadness and stains,
She muscles on with all her strength
Her life no longer decided by fate,
As she holds her own in this world of endless strain.
Her eyes, deep and soulful,
Mind made of imagination
With control over the birth of creation
Beyond the visible.

Because in the great sea
Of moments to breathe
I am set free
To weave my own destiny.

 I am the weaver
And she is me.

This poem was beautiful and sad, and I think you did a wonderful job presenting this. Just remember that you do not weave your destiny alone - everyone you meet, everything that others do to influence your life, and God, upon His high throne in heaven, will forever weave more colors and designs into your life. Great write!
